2011 events of the Trinity Bird Count
This project will include bird count activities during all four seasons of the year, beginning with spring 2011. The spring count kick offed at the Trinity River Audubon Center's Celebrate Birds Fest on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011.
The spring bird count continues through May, during birds' migration and breeding seasons. Birding teams will be visiting each of the seven areas of the corridor during May. The team leaders for each area are scheduling their teams' trips. As these are scheduled, the information will be emailed to everyone who has expressed an interest in birding that subarea. It will also be posted on the Trinity Bird Count Calendar. If you see a trip here that you want to join, email the contact person to let us know you're coming. Be sure to bring your binoculars and some water!
In the summer, we expect to see different bird behaviors as we seek birds during July. The fall bird count will occur in October, along with many other Trinity-related events. The winter bird count will include the December weeks when Christmas Bird Counts inventory birds across the globe.
